Church of Our Saviour has been serving the community of Chelmer Village and Chancellor Park for over 20years. We provide a community space that is very popular, but is starting to show its age …

We are currently in the process of building a new extension that will be finished later on this year, but due to an unexpected rise in building costs, we have insufficient funds to fit, equip and finish the new space.

We want to use our Church to its full potential to serve the local community, but to do that we need your help!

Winning a ‘One Family Foundation’ Community Award of £10,000 would allow us to fit and finish the new extension to a high standard; making it safe, comfortable and suitable for all.

We are hoping to use the money to install a modern disabled/accessible bathroom plus an up to date baby changing area. We also want to make sure the flooring in the new extension, and the equipment in the new kitchen, are fitted to a high specification and will meet the needs of all those who use the Church building.

The extension will provide an extra 90 square metres of space, which will be beneficial for both the members of the Church, the groups that we run, and the local community. Currently the main Church Hall and the smaller Garden Room are both available for hire and are used by a range of organisations & groups on a regular basis; including Tumbletots, Brownies and Clubbercise. In the past we have run a debt counselling centre from the Church, hosted an art exhibition and fun days for the community.

The Church is also available to hire for parties & other celebrations, plus events such as quiz nights & fund raising activities. By increasing the amount of space available and improving our facilities, we are hoping to improve the experience of our current users, as well as those who will use the Church in the future!

We want our Church building to be a space that is welcoming, modern, comfortable and accessible to all – whatever their age or ability. Please help us do this by voting for #ProjectFISH at http://ow.ly/xYb230evrDX
