Giving

Generosity is at the heart of our faith, we believe in a generous God and our own generosity is a testament and hallmark of our faith in action.

We do not receive any money from either the Church of England or the United Reformed Church to help us with the day to day running of our church so it is up to us, members and friends of Church of Our Saviour to cover these costs. Our running costs includes our clergy and housing, the day to day upkeep of the building and running all the services and groups that make up the life of our church.

We also commit to giving 10% of the donations we receive to support other charities locally, nationally and internationally. The details of the charities that we support can be found here.

Regular giving

If you are able to give in a regular planned way this would be greatly received as we have regular commitments and bills to pay just as in any other family. There are various ways of giving, which include:

Parish Giving Scheme

We are a member of the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) which enables us to use the Direct Debit system to manage regular giving. 100% of your gift is directly received by the church and, if eligible, Gift Aid is collected on our behalf. You can setup your regular giving in three ways:

  • Online - via the Parish Giving website
  • Phone - 0333 002 1260 quoting our Parish code: 080608643
  • Post - print and complete the PGS Gift Form. Post directly to Parish Giving Scheme, 76 Kingsholm Road, Gloucester, GL1 3BD.

This is our preferred method of regular giving as there is much less work for our Treasurer and Gift Aid Administrator.

Offering plate

During every Sunday morning we have an Offertory Plate available on the Stewards table for donations.

Digital giving

We have a contactless giving machine in church which accepts card donations. This is located by the entrance or at the Stewards table. You can also donate online:

Gift Aid

If you are a tax payer, then don’t forget that by Gift Aiding your giving you can increase it by 25% at no extra cost to you. Even if you're not a tax payer, please download and fill in the Gift Aid Declaration form to indicate if we can claim Gift Aid on your behalf, and return to our Treasurer or hand in to a Steward during the Sunday service. You can find further guidance about Gift Aid on the HMRC website.

Thank you so much for being part of the Church of Our Saviour family and helping us to serve God and the people of this community. We couldn’t do it without you!
